It was a wonderful treat for Wintershoek Johnny Vivier Safaris to welcome back again this year, non-other than our great friend and agent from Russia, Mike Shukis and his client Valeriy Yazev. Professional Hunter Yvan Nieuwoudt was up to the task of hunting with Valeriy and Mike and their designated hunting territory was the famous Wintershoek Private Game Reserve near Kimberley. With exceptional Buffalo hunting in the reserve being the WJVS trade mark, Valeriy was all fired up and ready for the challenge to bag a great Buff. This Valeriy did in the old traditional walk and stalk fashion and what a splendid hunt was had by all; our client was armed with a .416 Rigby and a .300 Win Mag and he thoroughly enjoyed the ethical hunting and the pace that Yvan hunted with him at. It was on one of the many Buffalo stalks that Yvan pointed out an old Rhino with a humongous horn that Valeriy just had to add to his species collection. Just short of the Lion and the Elephant now to complete his big 5, Valeriy also took some superb plains game species with Yvan and Mike. We look forward to Valeriy’s return to South Africa in the near future.
